About
Prodiscov is a concept of an E-commerce website, which is integrated with the mood challenge. This website is going to transfer the moods of products through the interface to you.
Goals
One of the most important parameters of the quality of our experience is our feelings during that experience. Getting the right vibes from products is one of the points we should consider in replacing online shopping instead of shopping in person.
So, I defined this project to achieve this goal, in a long-term process. However, the main purpose of the project is to improve skills in this field.
The challenge
Achieving this goal is easier when we are designing for specific brands or products. But it is hard, and maybe impossible, for e-commerce. Since the time interval of moving between departments in e-commerce is insignificant compared to the department store; It is impossible to change the mood by changing the decoration of each section. Moreover, Maintaining the stability and similarity of different pages of e-commerce is more important than transferring different moods (because of the usability). Therefore, the challenge is to find the optimal point to combine the two, i.e., to convey different moods while maintaining the overall structure.
Design Process
Each step starts with desktop research, about the main product, the concept of the product, and different reasons for using them.
based on the different goals of using the product, and personalities, there would be different user personas, and each one of them needs to get different vibes from the product.
So main moods that are related to the concept of the product, & their users' goals and behaviors against the product, will be found out.
Then I choose some of them, and their main moods. So, chosen moods of each product are divided into groups, and each group would have its own design.
The next step is designing the system based on each group of moods. using all elements, colors, shapes & pictures to transfer considered moods; And then designing wireframes based on them to achieve the goal in each step.
Outcome
To develop skills:
  • Exploring different products & brands

  • Getting to know their concepts & different purpose of usage

  • Finding out relevant essential information related to each type of product

  • Finding out different attitudes towards each product, So getting to know different user personas related to each product

  • Getting to know their related moods, based on their desires

  • Gain experience with different color palettes, elements, & design systems in a semi-fixed structure of wireframes

extra outcomes:
  • Reducing the differences between online shopping and shopping in person

  • Improving the quality of the online shopping experience

  • More sensory connection with products
